Devon Boutte is a senior project manager and certified arborist with more than two decades of arboriculture experience. Devon was formerly a mayoral appointed board member of San Diego’s Community Forest Advisory Board which provides recommendations to the Mayor, City Council and City Manager regarding urban forestry policy within the City. Mr. Boutte spent six years with Davey Resource Group as a utility forester consultant, auditor and supervisor under San Diego Gas and Electric’s Vegetation Management Program.
Mr. Boutte is the firm’s lead horticulturist, and was formerly a landscape contractor and nurseryman during his undergraduate studies in Sustainable Agriculture/Plant Science at the University of Louisiana, Lafayette. Devon also has Masters in Landscape Architecture from Louisiana State University, where he focused his studies on geographic information systems, 3d modeling and digital graphic visualization. He has a broad range of horticultural knowledge, and continues to develop his skills in his private home-based nursery where he grows, propagates and hybridizes plants from the genus Aloe. He continues to utilize his horticulture background within the firm as a project manager and designer on a multitude of projects ranging from public parks, educational facilities, mixed-use developments, hospitality, and streetscapes.

- I hope to see a global shift toward greater empathy and understanding among people from different backgrounds. I believe that cultivating compassion—whether through education, storytelling, open dialogue and even design—can lead to more inclusive communities and meaningful collaboration.
