Linda Vista & Park De La Cruz
After months of anticipation and excited site visits, our two newest skate parks had their grand openings recently, only a day apart from each other. The ribbon cutting ceremonies of the parks are a part of San Diego’s continued park expansion effort led by Mayor Kevin Faulconer. The 34,000-square-foot Linda Vista Skate Park, located inside Linda Vista Community Park, is the largest countywide and one of the biggest in the state of California. The skate park is designed to accommodate skaters of all skill levels and offers a wide range of features including a 360-degree pipe, a 50-foot bowl, and a pedestrian bridge that offers observers a view of all the action.
Park De La Cruz Skate Park, seated in the City Heights community, offers a wide variety of obstacles such as an escalator love seat, backyard pool area, manual pads, and several grind rail and ledge combinations. The 19,000-square-foot skate park, much like Linda Vista Skate Park, wanted to design an inclusive environment for skaters of all levels. Overall the ceremonies were a tremendous success thanks to the strong showing by the individual communities and support from City officials.
Our office is so fortunate to be enriching lives, raising communities, serving our clients, and calculating sustainable design and construction services for such amazing skate park projects. Moving forward we want to continue to create reliable and exceptional environments that meet our community’s pressing needs. Cheers to more parks and more grand openings.
