Schmidt Design Group (SDG), established in 1983, is a dynamic 32-person landscape architecture and planning firm headquartered in the Point Loma neighborhood of San Diego. We serve a broad range of public and private clientele. Our work is complex, impactful, fast-paced, rewarding, and has been recognized with over 165 local, state, and national awards for design and technical excellence. Our work is also highly diverse, including public parks and open space, urban design, hospitality, health care, multi-family and mixed-use developments, master-planned communities, K-12 as well as higher education, and military.

SDG provides comprehensive landscape architecture and planning services with an emphasis on balancing artistic design with environmental sensitivity. Position Details

• Landscape Designer.
• A bachelor’s degree in Landscape Architecture.
• 1-4 years of experience in a landscape architectural firm.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD is required.
• A working knowledge of Land FX is preferred.
• Other software skills utilized in the office include: SketchUp, 3-D Studio Max, Adobe Suite, Microsoft Office Suite, and the Vive VR System.

Salary is commensurate with experience and includes a competitive compensation package including vacation and holidays, paid volunteer time off, medical and dental insurance, a 401(k) plan, annual profit-sharing bonus, paid licensure, and other excellent benefits.
